I've been looking for somewhere to "fit in" for a while, something alternative. I looked into Goth, but found several facets of it to not be for me. I'm a Wiccan, but am also looking for something else.
As strange as it may sound the other day I saw ABC's Castle, the episode "Vampire Weekend" and the alternative lifestyle that they portrayed there caught my interest. Where would be a good place to look into that further? I looked on Google and such but mostly just found fiction novels or small wannabe communities, no real information on it.
Note that I'm not talking about being bitten by a vampire and actually becoming one, that's ridiculous. What I'm interested in is the lifestyle that some people choose to live, the Vampire subculture.
Thanks.
Well I've been researching paranormal acts and reading about hauntings and what not, I believe I made a mistake a couple weeks ago, I created a wiccan circle for a ritual and offered my body that night, I have no recollection of what happened after the cold chills started to become apparent...
It's been a couple weeks since then and my girlfriend mentioned that I wouldn't open the door for her and I said I would, she found me wrapped in my covers that night.
Well now since I did some more research on paranormal entities etc, I've been feeling like someone is watching me and last night I kept hearing things, I could have sworn someone whispered my name.
Random noises and at least one hard push against the inner front door.
I feel really cold too and feel chills through my arms... I'm not going to give in to whatever this energy is, but I have a feeling it's not going to leave and I believe from my studies and what I have learned that this might be the beginning of it's crusade.
What can I do to make it go away, what can I do to protect myself so I can get a good nights sleep?
I kind of let go of my religious beliefs during the period and now regret my actions...
Anyone have experience any professional help or advice is welcome.
I will also admit, I probably have the worse energy right now, I am a mean person, outspoken, and rude. I lie as well, I haven't literally hurt anyone though.
It was my 2nd time doing a ritual but I gave offerings before.
I didn't ask for anything bad, I just said I gave it me and an offering but, invited all the usual: Air, Earth, Fire, Water, Goddess, God...
All text book ritual, I don't remember closing the circle though; I might of but can't be too sure. What's the proper way to close it if I left it open? (Just in case)
I am 17, and I understand that for most, the age requirement to be apart of a group is 18, and I understand why. I have finished high school early and am on my own, searching for a job and living at a friend's house for the time being. I am interested in the ideals of real vampirism, and I was wondering if there was a site, or something, that could aid me in my journey to becoming closer to the vampiric community. I have studied as much as I believe is true, though I think it would be much better coming from a mentor or someone I befriended. I am wiccan/christian and I am in search of knowledge, not Edward Cullen or Dracula. I would rather it be a private sort of thing. I want to learn better about life and wisdom and the energies effecting me, but I am not necessarily gothic or into bloodshed or violence. If anyone has any information, please message me back. Peace
Perhaps I should make myself more clear: I am not sanguinarian, I believe. I am more into the psi category, and I am not interested in current vampire fads or roleplaying, or any of that sort. I am searching for advice from a knowledgeable source. Thank you for reading my question. :)
I guess that more or less sums it up but, in short, I've been reading online and have found volumes of information concerning Wicca. However, the majority of this information strikes as either biased or controversial against and to other writings on Wicca. If possible, I'm trying to find solid information to study to try to become Wiccan.
P.S.: If anyone would be willing to I.M. me on the subject, I'm always on yahoo messenger but am usually only really here during the morning hours or overnight.
P.P.S.: Thanks for any and all help =D
Not sure if I'm looking for solitary or a coven yet. Also hoping to find local groups or covens I might could speak with or a way to find said local covens.
To AmyB, omg(s) thank you, thank you! the link you put on the very last line has given more than I could have hoped for in learning (I'm ex-Baptist >.< )
Blessed Be to all of you, and "thanks" cannot begin to describe it!
to become a high priestess in wicca do you have to have 3 years of training if u aren't in a coven? i know that some people believe that u aren't actually a practitioner unless ur part of a coven, i find this belief stupid.. im a solitary and im just as witchy/ Wiccan as any coven member
its not about adding titles and its not about leadership its about starting my own coven if i want to and about the life path of a Wiccan and how to choose a specialty in the Craft if you so choose.
Did you become Wiccan when you were underage?
Did you tell you parents?
How did they react?
Just curious.
What is one thing about your religion that others misinterpret continually?
They change the word magic to prayer.
They change the word God to Jesus.
Amen means "So Be It"
after a magic spell you say SO BE IT
I didnt make that up, its the truth! The Wiccan religion is one of the oldest religions and was here before Christ.
just because you change the name of something doesnt make it any different, its still what it is.
thats why its so hard for me to belong to any religious group
i will just stick to the definition of religion, believing in God or a sumpreme power. (God is simplar to write than sumpreme power, so I always say God)
Plus I use prayer, and speak to God, but I do one thing different than the rest of you fools of blashphemy. I don't say Amen or So Be it, at the end of my magic little prayer.
Lol you also change the word magic to miracle
but it is what it is magic done by the false prophet Jesus Christ.
he tricked you into believing he was God, for the Bible says the devil will trick you into believing he is God. Both Lucifer and Jesus sat on the right side of God. Both were Gods best friend.
and when Jesus died, he became Lord of all the World. just like Satan told him on top of the mountains. See all this land, I will give it you and it will be your Kingdom.
EDIT!!!
LOL your still fools. I am not confused. People that believe in Religion other than its definition are the ones that are confused.
Okay maybe what you say is true about what "Amen" aslo means, but.
In the Family King James Version, I had growing up had a dictionary, And the definition was So Be it, for amen.
Everyone totally misses the point.
When God does it, it is good, it is miracles, it is amen.
When Satan does it, it is bad, it is magic, it is "so be it"
I am tired of people telling me I am confused, I am not the one that believes in mythical beings.
Before the Bible, there Was the GODS, Zeus, Hercules, Hadesm, Cyclops. And fools believed that stuff too.
Now the fools believe in something a little more realistic, but still just as mystical.
Everyone has a voice inside their head, thats your brain thinking. Back in the time when the Bible was written, people didn't understand biology. And they gave this voice a name, and called it God.
Are you suppose to love enemy in a way that would inflict them with harm?
Please explain your concept of love of enemy...
I kind of considered a concept of love of enemy, love them enough to let them make their own choices in life ... that sometimes some mistakes teach the biggest lessons.
While in the same case, I follow a wiccan tradition of do no harm, and let go...let a true God ... for a true God would have a clearer perspective of everyhing rather than my personal opinions.
Jenny, that is a nice thought.
I will take this seriously and I do NOT want to be Wiccan. I want to do white magick. Im only going to do good magick. Im a Christian/Cathloic. So help me? And can i do spells even though im not a witch?
Yes i decided and interested into the "Wiccan" faith, and i would like to become Wiccan. My question is what book can i start off to read to become deep into the faith and can i become wiccan without doing the mortar and pestle,broom,etc...? also i want to actually become one now so where do i start and what is the first thing i do to become wiccan?
Thank you
ok im a teenager, and well i have been carefully studying and learing agout the wiccan relgion and know for a fact its perfect for me, i have tried simple charms and seems to me that they have worked pretty well, and i know im probably gonna get some bogus answeres like ur too young or its evil or whatever but if u just take the time to learn about the religion its actually a smart beutaful relgion in my opinion, but i have some questions, first: what are all the tools i need? i know of some but not all.... second: how can i get fully started, without my parents finding out? (im going to tell them after i gave gotten some experience and get used to it, please dont go all u shouldve told ur parents on me) third: where can i find the materials i need? fourth: i have heard a couple ways of starting or intiating or something like htat and if there is how can i do that?
yes i know that i cant join a covent until im eighteen and or get my parents approval and i know i cant go full out with the religion and that its dangerous if u dont use it right but please im looking for help not critiziation
I'm extremely interested in Wicca and I wanted to learn more about the people who are Wiccan. So I'm going to ask you guys about some of your experiences. :)
Why did you decide to become a Wiccan? How long have you been a Wiccan? Are you part of a coven or are you solitary?
I have so many questions but I guess I'll just ask these. :)
If you are against Wicca please don't answer.
you will not parish but have ever lasting life?
that's the only bible verse i remember from being a Christan kid.
That really was the first of many things that i was taught as a Christan that made me become wiccan, then agnostic.
Im much too liberal to be tied down to such a belief
When should I 'open the circle' for the first time? During a Sabbat, full moon or new moon? If it is a Sabbat, which of the eight?
Okay, no bullshit answers, I've studied everything and almost know this religion inside and out!
((Jenny K)) I agree too
Not you "brutal honesty is best" :)
(labgrrl) and (chubasco), thank you for answers with an ounce of respect, and thanks for the humbleness (bones)!
Not literally inside and out, I'm just saying that so no one would say I'm a noob to this and I should keep my nose out of it. I know the important basics though
and what I exactly mean is the christian fundamentalists and atheists who know nothing about wicca that don't understand that it's not really evil if your not doing it wrong, sorry I word things wrong and I had a hard day today, sad thing is I can't remove details :(
So my girlfriend and me have been together a while and its gotten pretty serious to the point where we are calling each other best friend and stating we wanna marry each other eventually one day. We have become real close and have amazing chemistry and its going great except our religions.
When we first started talking, she told me she was a Wiccan and did I have a problem with that, and I said no. Which I didnt. I promised I would not try to force my beliefs down her throat but I would always secretly pray for her at night like I do all my friends and loved ones.
Well tonight she tells me she wants to rejoin her Covant. She explained this to me and told me basically its a group of Wiccans that worship together in spirit and that they are very close, she even went as far as saying that they come first in her life. I asked her even before husbands and wives? and she said yes.
I have a major problem with this. I believe when your in a serious relationship or marriage (which we both want), that spouse should come first before a group of people you worship. She on the other hand does not and we got in an argument tonight and I have no idea if we're gonna make it.
But my question is: Should I stay with her and pray on this to God and have faith or if shes not willing to give up the Covant, then break it off. I thought about asking her could she just not do the Covant part and still practice her faith.
Tonight before I left she kissed me and told me she loved me, but said that if this is going to be a big issue, then we should think things over.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! And for the record, I really love this girl!
I plan on becoming a Wiccan, studying it right now, and have been thinking about what my altar should look like.
I am going to make mine look like it is outdoors. Stone (fake of course), white and gold cloth (maybe red and gold), fake plants wrapping around two columns, and of course the items that Wiccans usually use.
Make it very "celtic" looking.
Any religion can reply of course.
TB2, why wouldn't "fake" cut it? Is plastic, metal, etc not made of natural elements?
Jen, sounds interesting. I may have to add a few "christian" symbols because I still live with my parents. I'll use a couple of Pagan symbols that are used in Christianity... like the cross. They would never know the difference.
I recently moved in with some friends with my children after ending an abusive marriage, and as a practicing pagan (leaning towards wiccan beliefs though rather eclectic) I brought some items from my altar with me, as well as my tarot cards. I found a space and cleansed it with incense, cleansed all my tools and tarot cards, drew a circle and cast a spell. That night I was about to go to sleep and when I closed my eyes I saw orbs, and opened my eyes to a quick flash, then closed my eyes and continued to see orbs until I fell asleep. Having had trouble with being a portal to the spirit world before and even having been possessed at one point, I brought it up to my friends and they began to tell me about some of the occurrences in their home and things they've seen and heard, none of them good.
In my emotionally troubled state of mind, I'm afraid I may become an easy target and this worries me, and I was hoping someone would have some advice or perhaps even a spell of protection to offer? I don't want these things around my children, and though my friends say things have been quiet lately I'm afraid my presence may cause problems. Please help. Anything.
Can I get an answer that actually answers my question and not some response from some loser who has nothing better to do than add a comment or be a prat just to boost their points and levels?
Thanks for the suggestions and input, and to the christianity converter I grew up as a Christian and I raise my children to understand and be tolerent of all religions. But thank you.
My husband and I, Jeremy have been married for two years, and on September 26, 2009 our son Draven Mitchle Shean was Born, (He looks like his father :) ) He is beauitful, I am 29, Just graduated with my Masters, and pursuing my dream of becoming a teacher, my husband Jeremy works in conputers, So far, we are living in ohio, and plaining to move to a more family-friendly area, I am wiccan, I have been more quite some time, ten years, and Jeremy longer then that, We are somewhat respected in our current town of columbus, but many people in our compound dislike us, I just want to raise my child in a safe place, and still have his religion to him, Im afraid of what school will do (Jeremy has a daughter from another relation, Chloe, shell be five in december) I love chloe I pretty much raised her, shes wiccan to, with her long brown hair to her shoulders, truley adorable, but Im worried when she enters school soon, and how some will treat us? adivice at all?
I'm taking the SAT next week and I'm not nervous but it's really important for me to pass so I can get into a good college. I'm just starting to become Wiccan, and I want to know if there's a spell, necklace charm or such that i can cast or order online that will help me. Please send me the link if you know something I can order that will help or tell me about a spell and what I need to do. Thank you.
I've been studying really hard so please don't tell me to just study more.
Did the earliest forms of Wicca include any new beliefs or are all they all taken from various religions and beliefs around the world?
I am studying Wicca to possibly become Wiccan but want to make sure Wicca is right for me and not another Pagan religion.
No where did I bash Wicca; read the question.
Making sure that all the beliefs in Wicca are borrowed from the older religions and beliefs; and that nothing was new but compiled. I would say no to Wicca then most likely.
or did you find yours?
I was born into christianity, became wiccan and didn't really like it, so now im nothing! i just use my commen sense ;)
but what has been your religious journey so far?
I am one of them, and why do i find it interested? well it varies, it may come from media, movies, our society now days where magic or wicth might exist. Is it fantasy or fiction? i still don't know, but i wish to find out. And yes, i know many many people are interested to know, but why? just for fun? or you know/feel you can become a Wiccan? thanks.
Hi I have been doing some serious thought about becoming a witch i have a friend who is a witch and do not worry about me doing it just because she is a wiccan (i asked myself the same question and took an hour to thing about it)... I have been some really good reading about becoming wiccan and what it is all about and i'm just wondering what you do (I know that it is about what you think is right but) i'm just wondering what other witches do. Like how your alter is set up, and stuff like that ... don't worry i'm not trying to copy off of your ideas but it is hard for me to get a basic grasp on wicca and i'm just reaching out for what other people do. :) plz answer

We have a place (one of my friends dad's grave would that work?) Can any one tell me (indepth) a tradtional past life ritual. Supplies, aa good time, a good place, the actual ritual. Please be has indepth has possible!
Do wicans, to become wiccan, have to join a coven? I have been told different things from both sides and the side that usually says that it must be a coven are the same ones who look down on everyone else.
In some cases it is impossible because covens may not be at or near the location of the person who is wanting to be wiccan.
If I wanted to be part of a group I would go back to Christianity and worship the pagan god(s), again.
Anyway, to become a true wiccan do you have to join a coven?
*No offense to those in a coven; just seems that a lot of those that are do look down on those that are not in a coven...
I thought the names of the gods and goddesses were already well known?
If there is one "secret" name then do leaders of covens travel to Europe or somewhere to learn about Wicca?
A site that helps me to understand being a Wicca in a more down graded version, so that like a teen can understand what is going on. Becase i am really interested in becoming a wiccan, but the book i brought is very hard to understand [It uses big words i've never herd of lol]
And what is a good Wiccan name starting with j?
Thanks guys. :)
Blessed Be.

i am really interested in becoming a wiccan. so far i have read the book called Wicca a Guide To The Solitary Practitioner and have got an altar set up and everything you need for in.
But how do i become a true wiccan now?
Hai, a few months/weeks ago I accidentally refered to a Wiccan coven as a cult... ^^" sorry... I was reading the answers and noticed it. oops. I was reading my vampire books before asking the questions, the book was called "Night Witchcraft" or something like it. (I had to return it to a friend) just a fun read. I would like to ask again, after getting bad answers the first time. The one who wanted me to read the book was trying to convert me to their religion. -gasp- I'm terribly sorry for that ^^" tee-hee this time I'll look over it before asking... thxx~~
How can I become a Wiccan and learn witchcraft online?
I have checked many bookstores in the area I live but I couldn't find any books about Wicca. So, the only ways to learn witchcraft for me are free e-books or videos/articles on the internet. Where can I find those?
Thanks for your time. :)
I am trying to learn about Wicca and did have someone that was answering questions for me but she has since become too busy and her replies have gotten few and far between. I am not in a position to hire a Wiccan teacher or join a coven at this time. So, I was wondering if anyone could suggest a website or somewhere that I can find a Wiccan Pen pal or someone that is willing to answer my questions and assist me in learning Wicca.
I am reading books, watching videos, and reading articles but when I have a question about the book, video, or article I would like someone that I can ask about it. But I cannot afford to hire a teacher right now.
I am studying Wicca and am determined to become a Wiccan. I've studied and such, though I still have more ahead of me, and I want to determine my craft name, as many Wiccans do. I've thought of a lot of things, and I've got so many ideas. I try to use numerology because that has been mentioned very often on the searches I've done on craft names. I've tried a lot of things, but after a while, they just don't seem right.
Are there any Wiccans out there who had similar trouble? If so, could you help me?
okay. Thank you, Red Bean. I will try to do that, though meditation is not my thing. haha I'm only 14, there is still time to try new things. =]
I appreciate the other three answers so far. You guys, though did not provide very lengthy answers, did provide some sort of insight. Thank you. I will try to use all of your tips.
I am a solitary wiccan and don't wanna join a coven. But i do want to know if i can become a priestess ,and at the same time be reconized as such by other wiccans.
I have been studying Wicca for a few months now and would like to make a cult. I haven't been able to find a step by step way to becoming Wiccan so I turned to Yahoo Answers to help me.
Ahh, now comes the fun part.. details..
To explain where I am coming from; my mate is Wiccan, I am Old Catholic.
-insert dramatic music here-
No, but really...
We both love each other immensely, and both have a great amount of respect for the others religious choices.. I myself very nearly converted to Wicca before ever knowing him and then decided that I still firmly held on to my Christian beliefs, though on certain things I will lapse into Wicca.
I have to wonder though...
How would such a relationship work in marriage?
Honestly, I could very easily see myself spending my life with him, and he has said the same with me.
However, I fully understand how there could be difficulties, and I accept with open arms the fact that they would have to be solved with care and respect for each other.
I am prepared for that.
Although, there is one concern on my part that I am trying to figure out how it could be worked around..
This concern would be with raising children..
How does one raise them without interfering in their religious choice?
I would wish my children to seek out their paths, not become comfortable in the lack thereof, but I wish to respect his beliefs also and not shove mine down their throats.
...Any suggestions?
-Note: I asked this before in religion / spirituality, but I believe it should actually belong here... Not sure though, to be honest.
I've been interested in Wicca for years but haven't done much about it because I don't know where to start. I don't know anyone that practices it, where do you look for people like that, who don't seem like complete weirdos?
i would like to become a high priest very much, but i don't know how...
Ok, I am 15 years old and I'm dying to finally find a soul-mate! The only problem is well, I'm having terrible luck with all of them! I've became very good friends and eventually asked them out and all 32 (yes I've counted mate) have said no! I know many women find "burly" men and guys who have a bum the size of Newfoundland to be a complete turn off but, you'd think out of 32, one wouldn't be so shallow! Idk maybe it's the fact that I look like an out-of-shape Mr. T or that I'm a Wiccan? (Last time I checked, no one in the lower 48 or Montreal like wiccans) I'm starting to get really discouraged about myself and my self-esteem, I'm afraid to even talk to women, whether I like them or not!!! Enough with my banter but, what I really wanna know is...Are there any women out there that find a 5,4, Canadian, rugby playing, multilingual, chubby mr. t attractive? and What should I do to step up my "Game" and "Swagger" as my peers call it? Thanks a bunch mates!
Imagine a world where there is an afterlife. In fact, there is more than one afterlife for every religion. So if you die a Christian, you go to either Heaven or Hell, same for Jews. If you're Hindu or Buddhist you reincarnate, or hopefully become enlightened. See where I'm going? Where you go in the afterlife depends on your faith at the time of your death, like if you're atheist you won't go anywhere.
If the world was like this, what religion would you want to be? I would probably want to be either Pasatafarian, or Wiccan (the idea of the Summerland appeals to me).
What do you think what would happen to an agnostic?
Yeah, I like the norse afterlife just I can't really imagine what it would be like. The great hall concept sounds cool, but other that that I'm not sure. But the word Summerland conjures up images of beauty in nature and that's what I want the most. My idea of the greatest afterlife is one where it's just like the world is now, just without the hate, violence, wars, hunger, etc. Well actually I would want hunger, just I'd want for food to always be available. The food wouldn't seem as good if you didn't even want to eat it, same with thirst. A cold drink of water tastes so good after hard work, it's like pure ecstasy (not the drug). =)
1. what are some of the basics and fundamentals of Wicca?
2. who are the deities?
3. what are some religious symbols? (example, the cross for Christianity)
4. how does one become a Wiccan?
5. are there any religious holidays/events?
6. who are examples of famous Wiccans?
i've looked up some of this stuff, but i need a refresher. i've become interested in the religion and am considering to become a part of it.
thank you all very much. this is very useful information. i'm going to study this religion. i've gained respect for it from what i have read. i actually first heard of it by reading sully erna's "the paths we choose". i love nature and this seems to be a very peaceful religion. it fits me
I'm thinking about becoming wiccan, but I'd really like to hear other wiccans and their thoughts on the religion.... Also anyone know where to get these or how to make them? (In Canada)
-Broom
-Pure Water
-Chalice (preferably metal)
-Robe
-Natron podwer
-Athem
-Penticle (should i get one to wear instead?)
-Bolline
-Bell
I know it's a lot to answer but it would really help me, thank you!
I want to be able to learn & understand all of it or @ least most of it. Any help on where to start? Or what I should read?
Just wondering.
I have done them since i was about 14 and as to yet i haven't had a scary experience expet that of a spirit in my home, which was always there anyway. However i know a woman who is a phsycic and a wiccan, and she was really dissapointed when i told her i had used them. then she told me a story of how her and her friends used one. they had been drinking red wine when a girls glass fell over. a year later she died. another girls glass fell over and shortly after she became termanilly ill. my mum also said when she was my age her and her friends got some bloke named the "joker" and he spelt out the word "fire". Several years later, one of the women lost all her limbs in a fire. I love the ouija board but now im not so sure if they are safe or not? should i stay away from the board?
I had a problem In Self Initiation Ritual during the ritual I forgot some instructions required In the book. These Wrongs are lack of concentration pouring the water w/ salt, Fear of darkness when doing the ritual(Required its dark) so I'm afraid and imagine Satan with me during the ritual, I Cast a circle without closing it, I didn't exact measured the required body measures on 6-7 feet twisted end chord. Besides I feel hard to focus during the ritual. So Did I need to repeat it to the next waxing moon? I will wait the next waxing moon and its too long. And the Self -Initiation is needed to become a certified wiccan? and its special to you said in the book, so did i need to repeat it again?
I'm Hoping For the answer as soon as possible, please help me! thank you and blessed be?
